Cody Cottrell
Meet Cody - Tekayanalow^nas`e
Proud father and husband, Cody, Tekayanalow^nas`e is an enrolled member of Oneida Nation and a member of the wolf clan. Cody also descends from Chippewa, Stockbridge, Pequot, and German peoples. He serves as Chair on the Oneida Nation Arts Board.
Cody has always been inspired by art in all of its forms. As a child, he was greatly influenced to pursue art through his brother. He helped his brother make films, and set up pictures for his brother's college art classes. They also watched endless amounts of movies together. Cody briefly attended the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design, before returning home to Green Bay. Cody is mostly a self-taught artist, but is continuously learning new skills through other local artists that he collaborates and develops relationships with. He hopes to be a full-time artist with a business of his own and to help further strengthen the sovereignty of his people through art.
Cottrell is inspired by traditional indigenous methods and practices in a contemporary setting.
